About Me

Helen Mort: I'm a writer, climber and trail runner based in Sheffield. My first collection 'Division Street' was published by Chatto & Windus in 2013 and won the Fenton Aldeburgh Prize. I completed my PhD at The University of Sheffield looking at connection-making in contemporary poetry and popular neuroscience and used to blog about my findings at 'Poetry on the Brain' until the site expired. 'My new blog will be a home for writing about the body, poetry, cognitive psychology, sport and everything in between. Thanks for reading!
